Each Italian region has its own Bruschetta recipe that starts with a slice of homemade crusty bread seasoned with extra virgin olive oil and salt, and enriched with ingredients such as Parma Ham, Octopus, Salmon, Tomato, Garlic.
INGREDIENTS
320 g homemade durum wheat bread
550 g of ripe tomatoes
30 basil leaves
270g mozzarella
1 garlic wedges
extra virgin olive oil
sea salt
Parmigiano Reggiano or Pecorino cheese
Currently the Bruschetta is the queen of appetizers and cocktails, and it cannot be missing. Its preparation is very simple although it requires the usual attention of tradition, with only one secret: use only Italian ingredients of the highest quality.
For the classic Bruschetta, start by cutting the bread into 2cm slices. Heat a non-stick plate and when it is hot, toast the bread on both sides until it is crispy and remove it. Meanwhile wash the tomatoes and cut them into cubes. Put the tomatoes in different bowls and season them with the basil leaves, the extra virgin olive oil and the salt.
Cut the Mozzarella into cubes, remove excess milk with kitchen paper and mix it with the tomatoes. Peel the garlic and rub it on the bread slices to give them their aroma and strong flavor. Top the toasted, garlic-flavored bread slices with the dressing and serve.
